Cone Tornado
A tornado that narrows from the cloud base to the ground: the classic textbook funnel. The size and strength vary widely.

How to spot it
A smooth cone with the wide end at the cloud base and a narrower tip at the ground, often with a swirling cloud of dust at its base.
On radar
A hook echo, with a velocity couplet near the tip of the hook.
Safety
Shape does not tell you strength. A cone can be weak or violent.
